RPG was recently informed it has been successful in securing the Piling contract for the Macleay River and floodplain Bridge component of the Kempsey Bypass project.

The scope of work consists of the fabrication and supply of 3,300t of 16mm traditional piling for client, Abigroup. The project will be managed from RPG Richlands with work scheduled to commence from July 2011.

A precursor to the awarding of this contract was the achievement of certification with the New South Wales RTA.

The Kempsey Bypass project - part of the Building Australia Fund, is a component of the 40km Kempsey to Eungai project, which extends from the existing dual carriageway south of Kempsey to the existing dual carriageway at Eungai Rail. The scope of the Bypass project is the construction of the 14.5km Kempsey bypass and the bridge over the Macleay River and Floodplain will be 3.2km long and on completion, making it the longest bridge in Australia.
