We have been recently been advised by client, Piling Contractors, acting for the Gateway Piling Joint Venture, that the last pile has been poured for the Gateway Upgrade Project.

Signifying the completion of the piling works for this monumental project, the Piling joint venture has consisted of approximately 3.5 years of work, 246,000 man hours and approximately 1,750km of bridging piles and ground treatment works – the equivalent distance from Brisbane to Cairns.

RPG’s contribution to this joint venture has been the fabrication and supply to site of 750 bored piles with a total length of 14,000km. All work was undertaken from our RPG Dalby manufacturing centre.

The Gateway Upgrade Project, launched in May 2007, consists of ‘three projects in one” and includes 12km of motorway upgrade from Mount Gravatt to Murarrie, the second Gateway Bridge and a new 7km Gateway Motorway deviation running from Eagle Farm to Nudgee. The $1.88b design, construct and maintain contract was awarded to Leighton Abi Joint Venture.
