RPG secures contract with new client, Rio Tinto for fabrication work at the Blair Athol Mine.
The scope of the work consists of the supply, fabrication and delivery of fabricated steelwork for the Transfer Station and Conveyor Structures. The project will be managed on behalf of Rio Tinto by SKM and will commence in June 2011. Fabrication work will be undertaken at RPG Richlands.
Blair Athol Mine is located 20 km north west of Clermont in central Queensland, supplies customers in Asia and Europe with up to 12 million tonnes of thermal coal per annum.
This contract represents RPG’s first work directly with client, Rio Tinto Coal Australia.
