To be successful, you should have:

  • AutoCAD experience is essential
  • Demonstrated eye for engineered drawings with analytical skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Forward-thinking and solution based outlook to any situation
  • Mature, collaborative approach as you will often communicate with internal departments and leadership

Additionally:

  • Certification in AutoCAD or demonstrated learnings in the field
  • Autodesk Inventor experience including sheet metal features

Estimator


We are looking for an Estimator, who can start immediately, to join our Sales team. This is a permanent, full time position.

Reporting to the Sales Manager your duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Understand and interpret client enquiries from drawings and written specifications
  • Negotiating with customers and suppliers via phone/email
  • Simple CAD drawings of items to clarify scope
  • Job costing including determining machinery, material and labour requirements
  • Preparing detailed estimates using in-house software
  • Writing up job cards with detailed instructions and preparing drawings for the workshop
  • Following current company methods and adhering to procedures and systems to ensure consistency

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • An understanding of the steel forming industry including products, the market, how materials bend and what tooling and machinery to use
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering/structural drawings
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written

We are currently looking for an experienced Brake Press Operator to join our busy team in Wacol. This is a full time, day shift position.

 To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in operating medium to heavy brake presses
  • Trade qualified as a Boilermaker, Fitter and Turner or Sheet Metal
  • Excellent knowledge of brake press operation
  • Ability to read and interpret workshop drawings
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of workshop personnel
  • Ability to measure in-process and completed parts
  • Ability to read and complete job sheet documentation and quality check sheets
  • Licensed forklift operator
  • Licensed overhead crane operator

Warehouse/Materials Handler


We are currently looking for a Warehouse/ Materials Handler (Plate) to join our busy team at Wacol and work the day shift, from 6.00am to 2.00pm (Monday to Friday).

To succeed in this role, you will need to:

  • Unload/load  incoming/outgoing trucks and manage plate arrivals via overhead crane
  • Supply material to the profile machines for cutting
  • Storage of full and remnant plate
  • Liaising with CAD and Profile Team to maintain job schedule
  • General warehouse duties
  • Following the correct safety procedures at all times
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the steel industry would be an advantage
  • Experience in the use of overhead cranes;
  • Current forklift licence is an advantage but not crucial to role
  • Sound knowledge of warehousing operations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • An ability to work autonomously and as part of team

Sheet Metal Worker/Boilermaker


We are currently looking for a qualified Sheet Metal Worker/Boilermaker to join our busy and dynamic team in Wacol.  Your day to day responsibilities may vary slightly each day but mainly including basic welding and fabricating for special projects and general maintenance of equipment.

To perform well in the role, you must have: 

  • A trade qualification as a boilermaker/welder
  • Previous experience using tools and competent in welding
  • Previous working experience in the steel/engineering industry is highly regarded
  • An ability to work from & interpret workshop drawings
  • A proficient ‘can do’ attitude and honest work ethic
  • Forklift licence is an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work independently and within a team environment

An excellent opportunity currently exists for an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join the team in Wacol. Reporting to the Factory Manager, this role will support the business with the provision of preventative and corrective maintenance and complete any troubleshooting to a variety of advanced machinery located on premises.

To succeed in this role, you must have the following: 

  • Electrical Trade Qualification (holder of current QLD Electrical licence)
  • Previous experience in machine trouble-shooting, problem solving & fault-finding
  • Experience in preventative maintenance
  • Fitting and Turning background
  • Current forklift and EWP licence
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Previous overhead gantry crane experience essential
  • The ability to follow instructions and work well within a team
